Arcanine vs Ninetales

Which do you think is the better Fire type?

I prefer Ninetales just because it can Sweep and can learn Nasty Plot and Hypnosis

I prefer arcanine just because I've always used one

i think arcanine is better

Well I like ninetails because she is pretty powerful if you give her the right moves.

this has been an epic rivery for a long time and i don't know who to go for

i think both pokemon are good sweepers but ninetails has a more expansive movepool than arcanine so i choose ninetails

but then again if they were facing off with each other then Arcanine would have an advantage cuz it has high atk and Nintails has low def

yes that is true but arcanine has the lowest hp count in pokemon

His hp wouldn't matter much cuz he wouldn't get hit by Nintails He could just OHKO with Extremspeed.

i would choose arcanine due to the fact that ninetales has never appealed to me. ANd because Arcanine can learn fast moving hits. If trained properly he would be great.

Nintails can do a lot of damage don't get me wrong but not to other fire types like Arcanine.

It can, it just depends on what it knows. I prefer Ninetails.

arcinine knows more non fire moves which is good because ninetail can absorb fire attacks so i say arcinine

Arcanine just has that advantage with Extreemspeed

ninetales is an ANNOYER. i was on battle frontier yestrday and i lost to it by an annoying combination. attract confuse ray will-o-wisp and fire blast ...
arcanine isn't so good as ninetales in my opinion its cooler though.

Sure he can be annoying but his Def and Arcanines high Atk and ability Flash Fire allows him to defeat that set with ease

i express my own opinion though
i haven't battled many arcanines xD

I know same here i've faced about 3 Arcanines and about 20 Nintail.

this is very true and i also wanted to give you a little tidbit fast moves are called priority moves ex. quick attack bullet punch extremespeed etc. etc.

Personally, I prefer ninetales due to the fact it can survive a small deal longer or at least a little easier than arcanine. Also, I like the idea of nasty plotting into a predicted switch.

Ninetales' movepool is also quite a deal larger. What other fire type knows such a versatile movepool? Oh, yea, Infernape XD

Of course the stats don't match, but imagine this build...


Nasty Plot
Extrasensory
Flamethrower
Energy Ball

Covers almost everythin after a nasty plot, which can be easier than one may think.


Although if you like playing more aggressively, Arcanine is the way to go. It's all on playstyle.
